- Included school feeding in its education policy, recognizing the key role of school meals in improving human capital and reducing inequality, with the goal of reaching 1,000,000 children by 2025. To support this ambition, the government has budgeted USD 19.4 million and mobilized additional resources through partners such as Education Cannot Wait and the Emergency Project to Combat the Food Crisis (PULCCA).
- National school meals programme is being developed with subnational authorities, civil society organizations and technical partners, led by a team in the Ministry of Basic Education. The programme is guided by a new National School Feeding Strategy and supported by the development of
a sustainable financing strategy through the Sustainable Financing Initiative.
