• Expand the national school meals program's reach from 450,000 to 777,000 children in the academic year 2023-2024, with the goal of reaching 1.4 million children in the academic year 2024-2025.
• Enact and implement the national school feeding policy currently under development by 2023 and establish a school Feeding Law by 2025.
• Establish the first-ever three-year national budget allocation for school feeding, with approximately US$42 million designated for the implementation of the National School Feeding Program during the ongoing school year 2023-2024.
• Take ownership of national school feeding operations from WFP from the academic year 2023-2024.
• Establishing an inter-ministerial coordination committee on school meals by the year 2024 to facilitate the seamless implementation and monitoring of the policy.
• Develop nutrition guidelines and Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) guidelines for school meals by 2024 to uphold the nutritional standards and safety of the meals.
• Develop a comprehensive monitoring system by 2024 to ensure the effective tracking and evaluation of national school meal initiatives, guaranteeing that they meet their intended goals and impact.
